There are so many small shops in the bunny community, it's insane but its convenient! Some commonly known ones are FluffyBunConfections, The Well Kept Rabbit, etc! There are a huge variety of different shops. There are toys: Balsa Blocks, Flings, Vine Toys, Wreaths, etc. And, of course there are the treat shops which take up a majority of the small shops on bunny gram. Let's get into the topic of why you should support small businesses!
If you have a small shop, you know that it is so very time consuming. You could spend a whole day making treats and still didn't reach your goal of treats that needed to be made. The ingredients aren't cheap either. One batch can cost you over $10 here because oat flour is so expensive. Plus the fruit, etc. When you look at small businesses, notice how some of us charge less than $5.00 per bag of treats that could contain 20, etc. The labor that goes into it is quite painful, we get blisters, back aches, neck aches, our feet are in so much pain, etc. We work our butts off just for our customers to be satisfied. Sometimes we throw batches out because we know the public eye will not be pleased. So, next time you purchase from a small business, please leave them a note or something that shows that you are grateful. You are grateful that we provide these treats for you, the time we put into it. The thing that we love about this whole treat industry is that us business owners love seeing the photo of the bun and the treat it received. It is just so amazing to see that the treats that we made, are in your buns paws now and they get to enjoy our creations.
Larger businesses like Kaytee, etc, they don't have to work as hard as we do, most of the time it is one single person making all these treats. Next time you want to purchase from a small business, try a new one! A small one that has less than 100 or 50 sales, it will brighten their day by so much. I just wanted to make this post to make people more aware of what is behind the scenes of making treats and I do hope that this convinces you that shopping small is the best way to go, in no way shape or form will I ever shame someone for not buying from an Etsy shop but, I do recommend it since we put all this time into our stuff to satisfy our customers.
See you next week everybun!
